2nd Swedish Looping Tour - May 2008+ guest artists + guest artists...Concert! Workshop! Clinic! In May we’ll be doing the 2nd Swedish Looping Tour, supported by the Swedish Art Grants Committee (Konstnärsnämnden). Since our previous looping tour in 2003 I have received so many requests from all kind of music and art schools that we will now not only offer live looping concerts but also workshops and intensive courses. Therefore we are making our 2nd Swedish Looping Tour a Touring Open Stage for Live Looping! Live Looping Concert Rick and Per play together on stage. With no prerecorded material they are sampling themselves to build complex music in real-time. The improvisational flow includes playing many traditional acoustic instruments as well as the “electronic meta instrument” represented by interactive live looping gear. We invite interested musicians to sit in with us, alternatively performing your own set. Please talk to me in advance so we can plan for a great show! per@boysen.se Workshops Master Percussionist/Multi-Instrumentalist Live Looping expert Rick Walker has played more than a thousand different instruments and studied musical traditions from all over the world. He developed the Rhythm Intensive - a general, cross cultural approach to mastering composition, arrangement and improvisation. Teaching musicians how to hear and play complex rhythms using finger graphics and verbal phrases culled from different ethnic paradigms and translating those concepts into standard western notation. Per Boysen has been teaching Live Looping at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH), at unique clinics and to private students. He has a well documented ability to explain and demonstrate in praxis, all those classic technics as overdubbing, feedback, multiplying etc. This clinic also goes into more advanced techniques as sample rate/speed shifting combined with chord and harmony analyses in order to improvise both lead and harmony at the same time - as in “instant composing”. Organisational Culture Loops The album OCL (Noden 2004) was extremely satisfying to make for many reasons. Davids great voice and phenomenal sense of timing as a speaker, to name one. I'm also happy that Kjell and Eric at Noden share my vision about all storytelling artforms actually relying on the same set of archetypes. Finally, it's cool to see that it really is possible to release serious collaborations without having to deal with the copycats of the traditional record industry.

Improvisation In Theory and Praxis with Per Boysen.
This new seminar is an interesting hybrid performance that grows from the
seemingly chaotic zone between Concert and Speech. Per is playing improvised
live looping music while explaining some of the philosophical and musical
aspects of improvisation. Time span: 2 hours. This program was much appreciated
when kicking off the Future Work Forum event series put on by Noden. Pboy's
iMpro Seminiar has also been successful at the Human Resources Executives
